A review by Beatrice Webb of the autobiography by Baroness Shidzué Ishimoto of Japan, who remained faithful to socialism whilst her first husband Baron Ishimoto Keikichi became disillusioned with it and began working for the expanding Japanese empire. She later divorced and married labour leader Katō Kanju and is often cited as Katō Shidzue (or Shidzue Katō).
